Q: What items do you accept for trade?
We accept CDs, DVDs, LPs and Video Games. We will take Video Games for any console system, but are unable to accept Mac or PC games. Items should be in good physical condition and have a current online market value. Please note, that we cannot take video games or software with used activation codes.
Q: Do you accept drop offs?
Yes! If you’re in the Charleston area, you may drop your trade off at Monster Music located at 946 Orleans Rd. in West Ashley. Make sure they know that your trade is for AbundaTrade.
Q: How do you assign value to the items I trade in?
Your trade price is based on the current online market value for each item.
Q: Where can I find the UPC or ISBN on my item?
Usually this number can be found on the back of your item, above or below the barcode.
Q: May I just send you a list of my CDs, DVDs, and Video Games so you can tell me which ones you’ll take?
Sure! Enter the UPCs into our Online Trade Calculator or attach a spreadsheet containing your UPCs and email our Trade Department. PLEASE NOTE that we will have to physically inspect all of your items for condition before we will confirm the trade amount. We cannot promise to accept any items based solely on your list, but we can give each other a much better idea of what to expect.
Q: I purchased some of my CDs through a record club such as BMG or Columbia House. Can I still trade them in?
Yes, we will accept CDs from record clubs assuming they satisfy the rest of our criteria. Because these CDs often have an unusual UPC, they may not translate in our Online Trade Calculator. However, you can still send them in for credit.
Q: Is there a faster way for me to enter my items into the Trade Calculator?
Yes, if you have a large number of items we have a few shortcuts you can take to expedite the valuation process. Click here to download the the AbundaScan App with your smart phone or Kindle.
Q: Can I use titles when entering my items into the Trade Calculator?
Yes, you can use titles to enter items into the AbundaTrade Calculator. However, you should take care to choose the correct edition. For instance, there can be many releases, editions, or gaming platforms of like titles. For this reason, we encourage the use of UPCs whenever possible.
Q: Does condition of the items matter?
Yes, condition is very important and can affect the overall value of your trade. Trade value is given according to each items current online market value, and is subject to the condition of the items when they arrive. Please follow the simple rules on our Conditions Page.
Q: What happens after I submit my list?
You will receive an email from us within 24 hrs with directions of how to proceed. If you do not receive an email, please be sure to check your spam or junk folders. For immediate questions or concerns you can contact our Trade Department.
Q: Can I trade in my items even though I’m in a different state or country?
We accept trades from all 50 states in the US. We are currently working on expanding this offer to Canada, so stay tuned!
Q: What happens to items that you decline?
If an item is not in re-sellable condition it will be declined. Customers may request the return of their declined trade items before they accept the final trade value. Customers are responsible for the shipping cost of any declined items they request to be returned. If the customer does not request these items back, they will not be automatically returned to the customer. Any items that are not requested back by the customer at the time of the acceptance of the final trade value will be donated or properly recycled by AbundaTrade.com.
If the customer requests to have the declined items returned then the cost will be deducted from their final trade value. If the cost of shipping back trade items to a customer exceeds the final trade value OR a customer chooses to not complete a trade, we will accept credit card payments or a check sent in the mail to the Trade Department for the cost of shipping back the items.
Q: May I use ASIN’s in the trade calculator?
Yes, you may. We know there are websites out there that help you catalog your CD or DVD collection by ASIN, and you’re welcome to use that list. However, UPC’s are the best way to ensure that you get the most value for your items and we highly recommend using them with our Trade Calculator. If you have an extremely large collection and have questions on how best to quantify your trade value please contact our Trade Department for assistance.
Q: How long will it take for me to get my money?
Once we receive your trade, it will take 4-5 days to evaluate your items, after which you will receive a final trade value. After you accept the final amount it will take 48-72 hours for PayPal transactions to show up in your account or 2-3 weeks for a check.
Q: What do I do if my payment hasn’t arrived?
First, please make sure that you have received and responded to the email we sent you with your final trade value and how you would like to receive your payment. If you have already chosen PayPal or check and it’s been longer than the allotted time stated in the question above, please contact our Trade Department immediately.
