“L.A. Noire”, E3 Expo 2011 & Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Video Game Law Awaits Supreme Court Decision

I have not spent a lot of time playing video games since Super Mario Brothers on Nintendoback in the 80′s.  However, after reading IGN’s review of Rockstar Games’ “L.A. Noire,”  I hope my husband will be picking up a copy for his PS3.  According to IGN.com‘s Hilary Goldstein, “Using a brand new technology called MotionScan, “L.A. Noire” delivers pure performances from a talented group of actors. Every wrinkle, twitch, downward glance, grimace, and hard swallow is from an actor playing a part.” The facial expressions of potential suspects is so amazing I just may try my hand at attempting to solve crimes as a 1947 L.A. police detective.  Developed by Team Bondi and released worldwide as of today, it is rated “M” for Mature and is available for both XBOX 360 and PS3.

Los Angeles is also the backdrop for the upcoming E3, or Electronic Entertainment Expo, which will be held from June 7-9, 2011.  Although not open to the general public, “E3 Expo is the world’s premiere trade show for computer and video games and related products, ” according toE3expo.comJeff Machiafava at Gameinformer.com posted this list of games confirmed and rumored to be at this year’s expo.  Prepare to add some hot new games to your wish list.  You can even trade some of your used games for cash here at AbundaTrade.com so you’ll have funds for those new must-have games.  See pictures from the E3 Expo 2010 here.

Sticking with our California theme, the Supreme Court decision regarding Brown vs. EMA (Entertainment Merchants Association/ESA (Entertainment Software Association) is expected to be announced next month.  Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, AKA the “Governator,” signed Assembly Bill No. 1179 into law back in 2005.  The law would restrict the sale of violent video games to those under 18 in the state of CA and was due to go into effect back in 2006.  It was overturned by a CA court of appeals before it could be enacted and later sent to the U.S. Supreme Court.  According to Video Game Voters Network, “The restrictions proposed by the State of California are unconstitutional and do nothing more than take away the rights of individuals to make their own choices. Parents — not the government or industry — should be the ones to decide what games are appropriate for their children.”  Opponents of the law believe the law would violent First Amendment rights.  You can visitvideogamevoters.org if you would like to learn more.

Back in our warehouse in Mount Pleasant, SC, I spoke with ourAbundaTrade Team gamers to see what they are currently playing.  Our customer service guru,Jordan is currently playing “Fallout 3″ and “Dead Space” on his PS3.  Michael in our trade department is spending some of his game time on the online computer game “League of Legends”.  He says it is a very addictive game, so consider yourself warned.  It is free to play the game itself which features champions for you to pick from.  The champions rotate out each week so you can try out new players.  You can also either earn points through game play or pay actual money to buy points.   Points can be used to “buy” skins for your character.  If you prefer not to use your own hard-earned cash, you can get cash by trading in your used video and computer games you are no longer playing at AbundaTrade.com.

Our trade process is simple.  Just gather up your unwanted video games and computer games.  (Don’t forget any unwanted CDs, DVDs or books, too.)  Next visitAbundaTrade’s Trade Calculator and enter in the UPC or ISBN numbers you find on your items to get the estimated value that AbundaTrade will pay you.  Box and ship them to us.  (You may even qualify for free shipping.)  Once we receive and evaluate your trade, we can then mail you a check or deposit funds directly into your PayPal account, or you can even get 25% more value using AbundaStore trade credit.  Who knew it could be so easy to fund one of your favorite past times?!
